The problem
Me too! After years of looking for the perfect pair of shorts, I decided to make my own. I needed a rugged material without sacrificing mobility. So I bought some oversized rugby shorts, borrowed a sewing machine, and started cutting and sewing.
The discovery
It all comes down to a mechanism I found by accident. I had a pair of rugby shorts that ripped clean from the hem to the waistband on both sides. They looked ridiculous — but the mobility was incredible.
So I copied the cut on purpose, and sewed a stretchy panel underneath each side.
Right away, I knew I was onto something: shorts that were genuinely rugged and genuinely flexible, with no compromise.
Now I'm cleaning up the design and heading to a manufacturer to get the first forty pairs made. I need people to put them through it — test them hard, share honest feedback, and film a cool video of how they chose to push them.
The tester program
I'm about to fly across the world to meet with a designer and manufacturer, and I'm bringing back a limited run of prototype pairs to put on the people who'll actually push them. Testers get an early pair for $32 — half off the $64 planned retail — in exchange for honest feedback and a little content from the field. The first tester pairs ship at the end of July.
